*Wavy / Curly Hair
Be sure to apply leave in conditioner after washing hair so that the hair stays soft and luxurious. Brush the hair or run your fingers through your hair daily. Using a good leave-in conditioner can keep your hair from drying out and tangling. We always recommend not putting too much of any type of product on hair, too much of anything is never good, otherwise there will be a build up which will make the hair feel too heavy and weighed down. To get back the bounce and flowiness, just wash and condition the hair. If you experience any serious tangling before washing the hair you can spray with a 50/50 mixture of conditioner and water, then brush hair from the ends to the root (from the bottom up), Gradually wetting the hair down and brush it gently before completely washing the hair.
*Styling
The advantage of wearing Virgin Hair is that you can style/dye/color/ombre the hair just as you would your own natural hair. So feel free to brush it, comb it, blow dry it, curl it, flat iron it and style it until you are content. Bleaching is not recommended unless being done by a hair care professional, due to this being extremely harsh on hair, if not being done by a license professional, this is at your own risk.
*Sleeping
To keep straight hair straight, you can wrap the hair just as you would your own hair. Wavy/Curly hair can be plaited or braided. ALWAYS wear a Bonnet Sleeping Cap, this will add longevity to your hair. And whatever you do, NEVER SLEEP ON WET HAIR.
*Swimming / Exercise / Spa / Sauna, etc
When dirt and sweat accumulate, hair tangles. When swimming, always wear a cap to prevent prolonged exposure to chlorine or salt water, which will cause the hair to tangle. If no cap worn, because you choose not to put hair in 2 Plaits or Braids. ALWAYS wash the hair with shampoo and conditioner right away after any type of exposure to chlorine or salt water.
*Shampooing/Conditioning
•Comb through hair prior to washing to remove any tangles
•Shampoo at least once a week using a shampoo with a pH between 5 and 6.5
•Do not rub or massage the hair when washing; this can cause tangling
•Always condition after washing
•When applying conditioner, comb hair, starting with the ends, and work your way up to the scalp being sure to avoid root/weft tension
•After washing and conditioning, apply a good leave-in conditioner
•Let hair air dry
•Every three to five weeks the hair should be deep conditioned by a professional during re-attachment services
*Daily Care
•Brush or comb through the hair daily with anti static brush or comb
•Comb hair gently to avoid root tension
•Finger comb wavy or curly hair
•For wavy or curly hair, wet the hair every morning with water and leave-in detangling conditioner. Do not attempt to achieve curls using alcohol-based products
•Use styling aids in moderation. Use alcohol free products
•Avoid blowing hair dry – excessive heat is damaging to hair extensions
*Dryness
•To prevent dryness, apply oil twice weekly prior to shampooing. Oils left on the hair overnight on the ends only is very effective. Remember, hair extensions do not have the benefit of your own natural scalp oils, so adding natural oils into your hair care regimen will help to replace those necessary oils
. Use a light serum NO OIL SHEEN
*Detangling
•Be sure to comb the hair each day and after each wash. When detangling the hair, start from the tips and work up little by little to the roots. Hold the base with the other hand to keep it from shedding or causing root tension.
. Always use a paddle brush or a wide tooth comb.
***HAIR CARE DON’T***
• Do NOT use OIL on hair (it is too heavy)
• Don’t use aerosol can products on the hair.
• Don’t apply un-necessary heat to hair.
• Don’t over-process (while bleaching/dyeing) the hair
• Don’t overuse products on the hair. Too much leave in conditioner, Serum, Hair Spray, etc will create a build up and cause hair to tangle. If the hair feels dry or heavy with build up, wash with good shampoo and conditioner and add leave-in conditioner to hair.
